TO MOVE OR NOT TO MOVE...THAT IS THE QUESTION?

Well, I am online again researching the good, the bad and the ugly of living in Europe. And needless to say, I am more confused now than before I started researching eight months ago.

You see, I am the mother of two year old triplets and they were a huge surprise! (Ya think! LOL). My husband and I always wanted children and were planning on jumping that hurdle once we had traveled a bit. In 2005 we started planning trips with our friends for the 2006-2007 years. Spain, France, Ireland and Czech Republic, the latter two countries because my mothers ancestors are from there. And then February rolled around and the stork came a calling. We thought no problem, I can travel up until about the seventh month. What a joke. After three and a half months I was on bed rest and the babies arrived in September of 2006. But from the day I saw them on the sonogram my life changed. I wanted to sell everything (and with today's market we should have.) and move to a small Mediterranean town. My husband thinks I am crazy. Who knows, maybe I am.

Needless to say the last two years have been an adventure in itself. But now that the babies are older and things are settling down, I feel as if I want a change. I am sick of the rat race and want a more laid back lifestyle. My husband and I have been in the crazy worlds of real estate and finance since 1998. We moved to NYC right after he graduated college and were forced to move to Florida with his firm thanks to the Enron scandal. We have been through the crash of 2000 and now 2006 and I am tired. My husband was also a teacher for five years and from what I see it should not be difficult for him to obtain a teaching job in Europe.

So my question is "To move or not to move?"

I really love reading about every one's experiences in various countries and I have narrowed my research down to France or Spain. Leaning more towards France. But for Americans that do not speak a second language will it be too difficult for us to establish a life there? Of course I don't worry about the children they will learn as they grow. But for my husband and I we will have to make a living. So I am a little apprehensive.

I know my story is long winded but, as I wrote before I am very torn on the matter. So any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
